Day and Night

A style I wanted to try out digitally, something different than my usual stuff. The concept has been in my mind since october 2015, but I never knew how to execute it.
Even now I don't know what to think x'D Originally I had a horizontal composition on mind, but it seemed too easy and I wanted a challenge with vertical.

Two original characters I designed for this piece, Day (top) and Night (bottom). I put them in an hourglass as it represents time that passes by. Two halves will never meet, yet excist in the same space.
I thought of drawing sand somewhere it's the blue stuff that falls down lol. There are more symbolic elements hidden, but I leave them to your interpretation. Some things are better left unspoiled |D
